We are .3 of a mile to the entrance to Tawas Point State Park, and a mile to the lighthouse. Bring bikes, or just walk, and enjoy all the park has to offer.
We do have some kayaks available for you to use. We are not direct water front - there is a lake access at the end of the road.
Tawas Point State Park offers beaches, trails, and a campground. I often walk to the lighthouse via the Lake side and back on the bayside once or twice a day - great opportunities to catch the sunrise over the Lake and sunset over the bay.
Tawas Point is part of the protected bird migration path. Every May and Sept/Oct you have opportunities to see hundreds of different species passing through (and monarch butterflies every Fall as well!)
Our location by Tawas Point State Park is about 3 miles to the quaint downtown East Tawas area and state dock. The bike path can be taken into town from our place! Our Guest Guidebook includes some recommendations for things to do, where to eat, etc!
We are always delighted when guests return - and a lot of them do!
We have kayaks - you have access to both Lake Huron and Tawas Bay!
Our home has deeded lake access - a spot to toss in a kayak or take a quick dive
Access to the state park is bar none from our cottage. Enjoy exploring!
